Property veteran Jennifer Cunich has claimed top spot at the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) on the back of more than 30 years’ experience in the business and homebuying sectors. Her appointment follows the departure of former Board Chair Adrian Harrington, who left earlier this year to govern the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation.

Police are on the hunt for a group of brazen thieves who targeted a Warwick retirement village overnight. At least two thieves reportedly forced their way into a construction zone at Oak Tree Retirement Village between 9.30pm and 10pm Sunday, using bolt cutters to break through the surrounding fence. Warwick police say the offenders then stole a laptop and tools worth thousands of dollars from inside the fenced-off zone. The tools were dumped on a nearby street and found by their owner shortly after the break-in, but the laptop is yet to be recovered. No suspects have been identified or charged at this stage.

Melinda Burgess is the new chief executive at Goulburn Options. Ms Burgess is replacing Rosey Panelli who she networked with before Ms Panelli passed away earlier this year. Having worked extensively across aged care, disability, and case management, Ms Burgess saw there was a great need for skills in the industry and opened her own registered training organisation in 1999. Having her own business further improved her leadership and management skills, which became essential to her appointment as chief executive at Menzies Support Service in Alexandra in 2017. Ms Burgess said she was excited to be starting at Goulburn Options and was keen to build on Ms Panelli’s legacy.
