West Australian Premier Mark McGowan says he supports a parliamentary inquiry into the source of lead contamination in drinking water at the new Perth children’s hospital. A WA Building Commission report released on Monday says the likely sources of lead were a now-disconnected “dead leg” section of pipe that contained stagnant water and lead leaching from brass fittings in water pipes, contradicting claims from the former and present state governments.
