Voluntary redundancies will be offered to nurses for the first time in South Australia as part of changes planned for hospitals in Adelaide’s south. As the Repatriation General Hospital closes at the end of next year and other changes are made in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, more than 100 beds and 200 jobs will go. Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation state secretary Elizabeth Dabars said she had an undertaking from the State Government that there would be no forced redundancies.
