Two women were allegedly attacked in their own homes with a brick and pitchfork in terrifying home invasions during a one-man crime rampage in Karrinyup — described by another victim as “Nightmare on Elm Street”. A 55-year-old Karrinyup man has been charged with 18 offences relating to seven incidents — all but one occurring in the same street — within a 45-minute period in the early hours of Friday morning. The accused man is believed to have lived in one of the seven units of the retirement village behind Karrinyup Shopping Centre. His charges include aggravated burglary, with intent to do grievous bodily harm unlawfully wounds another, threats to injure, threats to kill, being armed in a way that may cause fear and reckless driving.
