The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association has challenged Wesley Hospital Ashfield T/A Wesley Mission with an application to deal with a dispute/allowance/back-pay and the exercise of private arbitration power issue. The NSWNMA brought the application in support of its member, Anthony Parkin, a Registered Nurse (RN) at Wesley Hospital Ashfield. The dispute is about whether RN Parkin is entitles to the In Charge of Ward/Unit & Hospital allowance and if so is the Commission invested with the jurisdiction to order the Wesley mission to make a back-payment to RN Parkin? The answer to both questions is yes.
