The acting RSL NSW president has had to be removed from a board meeting of the RSL National after he ignored repeated requests not to attend. John Haines is the third state president in three years after previous president Don Rowe stood down after it was revealed he had run up $475,000 on his corporate credit card, and his successor Rod White stood down amid allegations he took a share of $2.5 million in “consultancy fees” from an RSL-owned charity along with some other state councillors.
