Political stalwart, disability advocate, and one of the oldest quadriplegics in the nation, Ted Dunstan, has died. A former Country Liberal Party candidate for the seat of Nightcliff in the 2016 Northern Territory election, Mr Dunstan was considered a force of nature in the electorate, often stopping for a chat with constituents in his motorised wheelchair. Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to the “passionate advocate”, who passed away on Monday afternoon, aged 78, after being admitted to hospital last week with pneumonia.
