One of Toowoomba’s most successful charities has appointed a local health bureaucrat as its new chief executive, following a five-month search. Jude Wills will now lead the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation permanently after being named to formally replace predecessor Alison Kennedy in the top job. Ms Wills was appointed as acting chief executive in April after Ms Kennedy suddenly quit following a nine-year stint. A podiatrist by profession with extensive public health experience in both clinical and administrative roles, Ms Wills most recently worked at Darling Downs Health as the acting director of the office for chief executive Annette Scott. It is understood Ms Wills was one of four candidates interviewed for the job by a panel featuring THF board chair Jacqui Armstrong and Children’s Hospital Foundation chief executive Lyndsey Rice.
