Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Dandenong man Alexander Lubomudroff. The 68-year-old is believed to have left an aged care facility on Scott Street about midday on Saturday 14 July. He was reported missing after failing to return as scheduled at 7.30pm.

An Ambulance Victoria officer who was slashed with a knife while buckling her kids into the car on the way home from work was just a centimetres from suffering life-threatening injuries in what has been called an “abhorrent” attack. The paramedic, who did not reveal her name, said she was attacked on Friday at Rosebud, south-east of Melbourne, after finishing her shift. “I feel scared, I feel shocked. I feel disappointed. I have a lot of emotions running at the moment,” she said. She had picked up her daughters, aged four and six, and stopped into to pick up some fish and chips. She was buckling her kids into the car when someone came up behind her and put his arm around her throat, before realising the person had a knife.
