A man has pleaded not guilty to touching a female ambulance paramedic’s crotch while he was being treated in the back of an ambulance on the northern beaches. John Michael Murgatroyd, 65, of Narraweena, faced a charge in Manly Local Court on Wednesday of sexually touch another person without consent. Police will allege that between 2.40pm and 3.30pm on December 12 last year Mr Murgatroyd twice used the back of his hand to push against the paramedic’s crotch. It will be alleged that Mr Murgatroyd was lying in the back of an ambulance parked in Ronald Ave, Narraweena when the alleged offence occurred. Police said the paramedic was examining him and conducting a number of tests at the time. The ambulance had been called by a relative of Mr Murgatroyd who found him passed out near his home. Registrar Michael Barbour adjourned the matter to Manly Local Court on April 16. Mr Murgatroyd’s bail continues.

A pensioner has been charged with stalking a retirement housing association employee over the course of a three year period. Robert Entwistle is alleged to have engaged in a course of conduct likely to cause the woman fear and alarm by sending her numerous unwanted communications via letters and online at Greenlaw and in Duns between January 1, 2016, and January 1, 2019. The 69-year-old of Priorwood Court, Melrose, pleaded not guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to the stalking charge. A trial has been fixed for May 16 with an intermediate hearing on April 29.
