A woman, aged in her 90s, has died after a “near drowning” incident at a retirement village pool on the Sunshine Coast. Paramedics were called to the Peregian Springs Country Club, run by Aveo, about 1.30pm Sunday. The woman was rushed to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, but died on Monday morning. It was unclear whether the woman’s drowning incident was brought on by separate medical episode. A report was being prepared for the coroner.
