A man missing from an aged care facility in Sydney’s south west has been found safe and well. The 65-year-old was last seen leaving the facility on Northumberland Road, Auburn, about 9am (Wednesday 20 March 2019). He was reported missing to police by a carer about 11pm, when he failed to return to the facility. Officers from Auburn Police Area Command commenced inquiries. About 11.15am (Saturday 23 March 2019), the 65-year-old man was located in Ermington safe and well.

Attorney-General Christian Porter has announced that both the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia will have one new judicial officer. Dr Timothy McEvoy QC has been appointed as a judge of the Family Court of Australia and Alice Carter has been appointed as a judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. Dr McEvoy will be assigned to the Melbourne registry of the Family Court, commencing on 27 March 2019. He became a barrister in Victoria in 2002 and took silk in 2016, and was most recently a senior counsel assisting the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, the A-G’s Department said.
