A paramedic has been charged over the alleged sexual touching of two women while giving first aid at a Sydney train station last month. Police began investigations after two women, aged 21 and 25, reported they were sexually abused by a man while receiving first aid at Redfern station during separate examinations on July 26. The man, 38, is a privately employed medic with specialist provider Safety Australia, which has a $9.57 million contract with Sydney Trains to deliver emergency medical services at 14 metro stations. A Sydney Trains spokesperson said: “Sydney Trains holds its staff, contractors, and companies who provide services on our behalf, to the highest standards and expects them to adhere to our Code of Conduct at all times. “As soon as we were made aware of this matter, we contacted the company that provides paramedic services to remove the person from the network while police investigated the allegations.” Police arrested the man at a home at Jannali in Sydney’s south about 8am on Wednesday and seized a mobile phone, electronic equipment and clothing. He was taken to Sutherland police station and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual touching of another person.
