Alexis Parkes’ family will remember their “beautiful mum” for the caring and compassionate way she lived her life, rather than focusing on the anger and sadness that surrounds her death. The mother-of-four and aged care worker, who had a “passion for helping the vulnerable”, tragically died in hospital early yesterday morning, just days after her Chermside home went up in flames in the early hours of Wednesday. Police will allege in court today that Ms Parkes was murdered by her partner who is accused of intentionally lighting her Bundal St property on fire while she was inside.
