An elderly man allegedly forged predatory friendships with two much older men in two different Hinchinbrook nursing homes before sexually abusing them, Ingham Police investigators said today. Ingham Police Detective Senior Sergeant Andrew Bye said that the accused, 72, was arrested at his Hinchinbrook home this morning. The man has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and three counts of serious assault of a person aged over 60.

Police were called after a driver went through their front window at an aged care resort in Noosaville. QPS spokeswoman confirmed the incident, which occurred at the Noosa Waters Retirement Estate on Lake Weyba Dve, Noosaville, was caused by a female driver who lived in the complex. A male was assessed by paramedics at the scene and was not transported to hospital.

An elderly man has died after his mobility scooter fell from a Perth train station platform and collided with a train this afternoon. About 4.30pm the man, in his late 60s, fell from one of the Wellington Street station’s central platforms and couldn’t be saved. Authorities briefly closed the platform while they recovered his body and scooter from the tracks.
