E&P Financial has hired a new healthcare research lead, as Gretel Janu jumps to the buy-side.
E&P has dipped into Melbourne-based Cooper Investors’ talent bench to rehire Sacha Krien, whose previous stint at E&P saw him focus on research coverage for gaming and leisure stocks. Earlier in his career, Krien covered gaming, media and interest for CLSA’s Sydney office in its heyday.
He’s rejoining E&P as Janu snags a role at Regal after a decade in sell-side equities research.
Janu was Credit Suisse’s head of healthcare research for five years until the bank’s forced merger with UBS. She’s heading to Regal after it lost healthcare portfolio manager Craig Collie and colleague Madusha Dilshan Seneviratna – both trained doctors – in April, who have since struck out on their own with a long/short fund.
Krien will report to E&P’s head of research, Cameron McDonald.
