An elderly Drayton woman found two thieves rifling through her possessions early this morning. Toowoomba Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brian Collins said it was likely the thieves entered the woman’s retirement village unit through an unlocked door, about 6.30-7am. “These male persons decamped after words were exchanged,” he said “They were in possession of two laptop computers stolen from the unit.”

A nurse who alleges she was raped by a police officer after a Tinder date has denied she gave her consent for “everything that happened”. Daniel Gerald Back, 45, is on trial in the District Court accused of sexually assaulting the woman seven times when she went to his Rockingham unit — after matching on the dating app and meeting at a bar in September 2018. The woman says she agreed to a kiss but declined invitations from Mr Back — who was a sergeant in Mandurah — before he led her there anyway while showing her renovations to his kids’ rooms. The trial continues.
