Two men fought inside a residential care facility while it was on fire, South Australian police believe. One was taken to the local hospital for treatment, but police said both men had been slightly injured. The damage bill from the fire is estimated at $200,000.

Police have raided the home of former union official Kathy Jackson as part of a multi-agency operation into union corruption. Several warrants were issued as part of a joint operation between Australian Federal Police and Victorian police. Officers raided her home at Wombarra north of Wollongong. Ms Jackson was ordered to pay almost $1.4 million to the Health Services Union after a court found she used the money to fund a lavish lifestyle to exotic overseas locations. It is believed the raids are part of operations headed by taskforce Heracles, which was created to investigate union corruption.
