A Palmerston North woman used her employment at a retirement home to steal a resident’s rings, which she sold for less than 10 per cent of their value. Niki Kiriona-Kahukoti no longer works at Abbeyfield House Retirement Home in Palmerston North, after her theft was discovered. The 43-year-old pleaded guilty in the Palmerston North District Court on Thursday to burglary, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment.
