An elderly woman died after being brutally attacked with a plastic chain by an 85-year-old woman at an Adelaide nursing home, an inquest has heard. Dorothy Mavis Baum, 93, died in hospital on May 31, 2012, a day after she sustained serious injuries at St Basil’s Nursing Home at Christie Downs. Staff were unaware Ms Baum had been attacked until three hours after the assault.
