Geelong nursing and midwifery students will receive more realistic training following the opening of simulated hospital wards at Deakin University’s waterfront campus. The state-of-the-art simulation centre will provide students with examples of real-life patient scenarios they might face on the job. Interim head of Deakin’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, Professor Nikki Phillips, said the purpose-built centre provided a safe, supportive and realistic environment for students to develop core skills.
