Former union boss and Labor powerbroker Dave Hanna allegedly committed insurance fraud months after testifying at the trade union royal commission, in a deepening of his legal woes. Prosecutors allege that Mr Hanna — the former secretary of the Builders Labourers Federation and ex-president of the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union — also corruptly received $400,000 in free work on his luxury suburban Brisbane home. Lawyers for Mr Hanna and his alleged co-conspirators, development giant Mirvac’s ex-directors Adam Moore and Mathew McAllum, indicated yesterday that all three men would fight the charges.
