Former top health bureaucrat Jane Holden’s long-running lawsuit against the State Government will come before Hobart’s Supreme Court this morning. Ms Holden was sacked as chief of the Tasmanian Health Organisation South on June 3, 2014, after an Integrity Commission report was released outlining nepotism within the health system. At the time of Ms Holden’s sacking, Health Minister Michael Ferguson said the Integrity Commission report did not prompt the dismissal. A writ lodged in the Supreme Court in September last year revealed Ms Holden wanted compensation for lost income, loss of the chance for consecutive appointment and damage to her professional reputation. The case will appear before Justice Shan Tennent at 10am.
