An elderly man is in a serious condition and will undergo surgery after he was repeatedly stabbed in the neck, arms and hands at an aged-care facility in Sydney’s south. It is alleged the 72-year-old man was set upon by another man, also 72, who entered his room around 7pm on Sunday. The pair were known to each other, police say. The injured man was taken to St George Hospital and is expected to have surgery. His alleged elderly attacker was charged with one count of causing wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and remanded in custody to appear at Sutherland Local Court.
