A woman is accused of attacking a paramedic last night who was treating her injuries. District Duty Officer Senior Sergeant Darren Randall said the 21-year-old was charged with serious assault of a public officer and public nuisance. The woman was allegedly being transported to the Townsville Hospital by QAS when she struck a 58-year-old paramedic on the head. The man did not sustain any serious injuries. The woman was arrested by police at The Ville because of her alleged drunken behaviour. Snr Sgt Randall said police would maintain “zero tolerance” for people who attacked emergency service responders.
