A trip to the supermarket has ended in tragedy, after an elderly woman was hit and killed by a car in Skye. The woman, believed to be in her 80s, was struck as she crossed McCormicks Rd on her way home to Oak Tree Retirement Village about 6pm Monday night. Paramedics attended but she died at the scene. Oak Tree Retirement Village spokesman Greg Raymond confirmed the tragic news.
