A number of deaths have been confirmed at a Tasmanian nursing home during an influenza outbreak. The fatalities happened at the Strathdevon aged care facility in Latrobe, near Devonport, in Tasmania’s north-west, which is run by Uniting AgeWell, an organisation of the Uniting Church in Australia. The deaths at Strathdevon came after confirmation of the deaths of seven elderly residents at St John’s Retirement Village in Wangaratta, in Victoria, which is run by the Anglican Church, during an influenza outbreak.
