A man who was staying with his mother in a Shenton Park retirement village has been charged after he allegedly assaulted two elderly women. Wembley Police Senior Sergeant Peter Gilmour said the alleged incidents took place on October 23 and 27. He said a 73-year-old woman was approached by the man (59) and accused of stealing on October 23. “As she walked away she was punched to the side of her head and her hair was pulled from behind,” Sgt Gilmour said. On October 27, the other victim, a 77-year-old woman, was allegedly involved in an argument with the man. “During this, we will allege he poured a can of Coke over her head and pulled her hair,” Sgt Gilmour said. Police officers found the man at a City Beach car park on Tuesday. He was charged with two counts of common assault and was bailed to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on December 21.
