An elderly quadriplegic man was unable to raise the alarm during a burglary because the intruder removed an oral alarm tube from his mouth, Tasmanian police say. The 70-year-old was in his bedroom at the house on Gregory Street in Mayfield, a suburb of Launceston, when another man broke in early on Thursday morning.
