Former Labor MP Craig Thomson has ignored a judge’s orders to pay nearly half a million dollars in fines, compensation and interest for misusing union funds, opening the way for further court ­action against him. The Health Services Union yesterday warned that it was ­considering further legal proceedings against Thomson, who had not contacted the union or the Federal Court since a February deadline for payment of his penalties expired. He now faces a higher fine and the prospect of a public examination of his financial position.
