Startling new figures have prompted the state government to announce a $2.2 million injection into protecting the safety of health professionals in next year’s state budget. It was revealed there were more than 11,000 incidents of violence and aggression against WA health system professionals in 2016 – that is, 30 “code blacks” in Perth’s three major hospitals a day.
