Former union leader Derrick Belan faces a possible jail term of up to five years after being found guilty of defrauding his union of $650,00 and being the mastermind of a criminal group. Belan, formerly secretary of the NSW branch of the National Union of Workers, was taken into custody pending his sentencing over 61 offences. Most relate to Belan misusing his union corporate credit card, conducting fraudulent electronic transfers and making false invoices.
