Investigations are continuing into the discovery of more than 500 cannabis plants found growing inside a former nursing home in Sydney’s west. Police raided the former Wynleigh Nursing Home on Chalmers Road at Strathfield on Tuesday morning. With the assistance from the Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad, officers searched the property and allegedly found 530 cannabis plants growing under hydro lights throughout the building. The plants were ripped up and seized, along with the hydroponic equipment used to grow them. The old aged care home was declared a crime scene and examined by forensic police. No charges have yet been laid, with investigations into the discovery continuing.
