A Cairns man who has been the driving force behind an organisation that’s provided care and support services to some of the region’s most vulnerable residents for more than two decades, has been named Cairns Region Citizen of the Year. Founding member and chairman of St John’s Community Care, Theo Bacalakis was awarded the honour at the Cairns Australia Day Awards.
