Tasmania’s public health services are monitoring influenza-like illnesses at health and aged care facilities following the death of six nursing home residents. An influenza outbreak hit the Strathdevon aged care facility at Latrobe between August 9 and 16, claiming the lives of six people. In a statement today, Director of Public Health Mark Veitch said 14 health and aged care facilities across the state are being monitored.
