A drug-addled man who stabbed a nurse at Royal Perth Hospital in the neck with a makeshift blade he had fashioned out of two scalpels stolen from a storage cupboard has been jailed for four years. Justin Trent Narrier, 31, had been taken to the hospital by police after an earlier incident, but was not under arrest, when he attacked experienced registered nurse Jane Moran during her night shift on May 12 last year. In a victim impact statement read by District Court Judge Amanda Burrows today, it was revealed the nurse had been left traumatised by the attack, and the “special place” she had worked for more than 40 years was now “forever tainted”.
